Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Courtyard Loop collects, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data-protection law.
Who is responsible
Courtyard Loop is a private, not-for-profit notice board run by a parent volunteer for families of The Courtyard International School of Tervuren. It is not operated by the school. The data controller can be reached at ingmarboon@hotmail.com.
What we collect
• Account details you provide: your name (or display name), email address and preferred language. • Content you create: your listings, wanted requests, offers and messages to other members. • Technical sign-in records: the date and time you sign in, kept to run the service and to give the site administrator a basic view of activity. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data.
Why we use it (legal basis)
• To run the marketplace and let members find and contact each other — necessary to provide the service you asked for. • To keep you signed in securely and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in a safe, working site. • To give the volunteer administrator aggregate insight into how the community is used (number of members, items, sales, sign-ins) — legitimate interest. Individual names and emails are only shown to the administrator when needed to run the service, and emails stay hidden behind a reveal action.
Who can see your data
Other members see your display name and the content of your listings and messages to them. The public 'Wanted' board is anonymous — it never shows who posted a request. Your email address is never shown to other members. Data is stored on our behalf by Supabase (database/authentication) and Vercel (hosting) within the EU, and email is sent via our email provider — all acting as processors under contract.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data, except anything we must keep briefly for security or legal reasons. Sign-in records are kept only to show recent activity and are not used to profile you.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email ingmarboon@hotmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
